I will be visiting Florence January 1-3, will any of the tourist destinations (Duomo, Galleria Accademica, Galleria degli Uffizi) be closed during New Years?

Ciao Peter,The museums do close on New Year's Day but should be open on the other days. The Uffizi and Accademia are closed on Mondays generally but if that falls on the holiday, they often will offer "extraordinary" special openings.The cathedral should be open.
