Hi,
the longest Livorno sandy beach is in the Ardenza area (southern district) at about 5 km from the railway station. Its name is "Spiaggia dei Tre Ponti". I think you can reach it by bus (N.1) from station. The other ones (closer to station) are very small (not much beautiful) and not so clean. I cannot reccomend you.
I'm waiting you in Florence! (my city)
