with your rented car  take the Motorway A11 - direction Pisa  (it's just close to Florence airport)  and drive to Pistoia. There are only 25 minuts for arrive at Villa San Simone, a charming Tuscan villa on the first hills around Pistoia, a beautiful historical town.  Lidia and I will be waiting for you and will give you tips and suggestions for to know the true Tuscany.
Villa San Simone can be an excellent base for visit all the most beautiful towns and landscapes in Tuscany. Florence is at 35 minutes by train ( so you can avoid the traffic of Florence) Lucca is at 40 min, Pisa and the Tirrenian  beach at 55 min., Siena and San Gimignano at only 1.15 hours.
