Re Accommodation in August - Looking for recommendations for either small apartment or nice but reasonable priced B & B/ Hotels .. Something like 2 days in Florence, 2 days in Lucca or Siena and up to a week by the sea - maybe to the bottom of Tuscany as I've been told that is the nicest seaside ... OR by lakes but all must be for a mum and 12 year old on foot/ train - no car.... All suggestions really welcome :-)?

We only have a few days after disembarking a cruise to experience tuscany. We plan on taking the train from civitavecchia. What would you suggest? OK.. Good Afternoon... I believe? I asm so confused. It is me . I am stuck on finding a place to stay that I feel I can trust. Medieval towns near Lucca and Pisa? Can you name some please. Also do those towns have transportation to other cities in Tuscany? I wanted a farmhouse but that seems to complicated since we do not want to rent a car. I can get to my destination.
